Penshurst Place, one of England's finest privately-owned historic houses, has been the setting for sumptuous entertainment on many occasions throughout its seven centuries of history. Kings, Queens, noblemen, great soldiers and poets have all dined within the walls of its great mediaeval hall, which has been described as one of the world's grandest rooms.

With its splendid 60 foot high chestnut beamed roof, lit by four magnificent candelabra, the Baron's Hall, is the perfect banquet venue for up to 140 people, whilst the Sunderland Room is an imposing setting for up to 90 guests. The tapestry hung Buttery, once the 'bottle' storeroom of the medieval household, accomodates up to 30 people for a smaller lunch or dinner.

Our catering company has been selected for its standards of excellence in cuisine and service.

A dance floor may be laid in the Baron's Hall, but the Sunderland Room is not suitable for dancing. Musical entertainment may be arranged, although, as Penshurst Place is a private ancestral home, all musical entertainment must cease by 12 midnight.

For larger banquets, a marquee on the South Lawn makes an enchanting setting for up to 450 guests.

The 50 hectares of recently restored Parkland, once a royal hunting forest, is an ideal location for country pursuits, including 4x4 off road driving, team building and management development days.
