Penshurst during WORLD WAR II
What is it like to be evacuated to the country? The Penshurst Air Raid Precaution Warden is about and will be making sure all our rooms are blacked out…(there may be sudden noises in this performance.) And, on Sunday, Edenbridge Town Band will be playing 1940’s band music. 2pm-4pm.
The Magic Lantern Show
For nearly 300 years the Magic Lantern occupied the front seat in entertainment. They were enjoyed by audiences of every social standing from the poorest to Royalty. Its reign only ended with the advent of the moving image in 1896.
“Magic By Lantern Light” are continuing the 300 year old tradition of bringing the joy and excitement to modern audiences using original equipment and slides. Also, our popular traditional Table Top games will be available to play with from 26th July to end of August, 12-4pm in the Education Room during weekdays.
