NEW: Winter Country Sport Experiences
In a brand-new experience launching this November when we are closed to the general public, Penshurst Place and Gardens will be partnering with Trip Advisor’s number 1 falconry provider, Joe’s Bows, to provide country sports activity packages in our ancient Woodland for guests looking to discover their inner Robin Wood!
Regular visitors to Penshurst Place will know of Joe’s Bows from our summer falconry shows which they have provided for us since 2019. Both family-owned businesses, Joe’s Bows and Penshurst Place have been provided support and guidance from the Visit Kent Experience Fund which was introduced to help Kent businesses create new, innovative products for Kent residents to enjoy.
This winter, Joe’s Bows will be operating from the historic Woodland Trail on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays during the closed season, providing country sport activities for pre-booked visitors who will also be able to enjoy the Porcupine Pantry Café and Penshurst Place Gift Shop, which are both open year-round.
Gemma Raines, one half of Joe’s Bows says “Joe's Bows is a flourishing family business, with a combined outdoor industry experience of over 40 years and a fabulous team who create magical, memorable experiences for all. The glorious setting at Penshurst Place will bring out your inner Robin Hood, as you grab your quiver and bow, heading into the woodland that is steep in history to the medieval ages, it seems fitting to get a grasp on the sports of the time. So, grab you coat, slide on the wellies and enjoy the great outdoors with us!"
Booking for the new winter experiences are open now, with the first session taking place on Thursday 4th November. To book your archery, axe-throwing, owl-flying or falconry activity day, please visit the link below
