Join us for our ‘Sir and Soldier’ season in 2014 to commemorate the WW1 centenary with war themed activities, events and workshops, there is something for everyone.

Most events are included in the admission prices except where stated.
Though we endeavour to run all the events as we have planned, this may be affected by unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions. Penshurst Farmers Market
1st Saturday of every month
9.30am - 12noon
The Times named Penshurst Farmers' Market in its list of top ten markets in the UK, with over 40 stalls offering the best local food and drink. Set in the car park of Penshurst Place, the market is on every month with a special Christmas market in December.
Weald of Kent Craft & Design Show
3rd - 5th May
9.30am – 5pm
Find unusual handmade crafts for the home and garden not usually found on the high street, with over 200 artists from all over the UK. Organised by ICHF Events. Combined ticket to the Craft Show and Penshurst Place available in advance.
May Bank Holiday Fun
4th – 5th May
Activities 11am – 5pm
Crafts 12noon – 4pm
With sessions every hour on the hour with The Bushcraft Company, transform into a WW1 soldier and learn fire lighting, shelter building and scavenger hunting. With craft activities from 12 noon.
Spring Songs in the Baron's Hall
2pm - 2.30pm & 3pm - 3.30pm
Visit the Baron’s Hall to listen to the A Capella ladies’ choir from the nearby town of Edenbridge. From its modest beginnings, singing for family services at the Parish Church, it has evolved into a vocal harmony group, performing at local festivals and weddings, with a wide-ranging repertoire, often themed to suit the event. They will be singing a selection of Spring songs for visitors to enjoy.

Crafts 12noon - 4pm
Step into Spring with our craft activities. And on bank holiday 25th & 26th May try WW1 paintballing, or dress up in WW1 uniforms and have your family photo taken with the Hands on History Team.

Glorious Gardens Week
1st - 8th June
10.30am - 6pm
Visit the gardens when the stunning 100 metre peony border should be in bloom and enjoy our gardening related events detailed below.
Head Gardener's Tour
1st & 8th June
Enjoy a tour with our Head Gardener and find out more about his plans for the gardens. Followed by a delicious afternoon cream tea. Available on Sunday 1st & Sunday 8th June.

Join Sarah Bateup, the Commercial Florist at Hadlow College, for a floristry demonstration in our gardens. No need to book, plenty of space for all in this 'open-air' event.
The Art of Seeing: Photography Workshop
11am - 1pm
Bring your camera and learn how to capture the finer details of our gardens. Hosted by Leigh Clapp, a professional garden photographer who has been working in the field for over 20 years. Her work appears regularly in magazines, newspapers and books including gardens for Period Homes and Interiors magazine. Garden admission prices apply on arrival.
