Events for April 2019

What Lurks Beneath the Inky Sea?

6th Apr - 22nd Apr from 10.30am - 6.00pm

Trails: 10.30am - 6pm in the formal gardens

Crafts: 11am - 4pm in The Old Coach House

Across the centuries tales of beastly sea creatures and fascinating fish have dominated sailing stories, and this Easter we invite you to walk the garden rooms and discover the mythical creatures for yourselves! We’ll also be opening up the Old Coach House and helping you create your very own under-the-sea monsters!

Cannon Fire and Sea Monster Spotting!

6th Apr from 11.00am - 5.00pm

Steady your aim shipmate! We need your best firing skills to help us fight the sea monsters we’ve encountered in our cross-seas adventure! Join Hands on History for a day of mini-crossbows hitting as many sea monster targets as you can! Throughout the day, you’ll also be able to see a real-life cannon be fired, similar to those ships would use in battle!

Captain Blackbeard’s Close Encounter

19th Apr from 12.00pm - 3.30pm

Storytelling performances at 12noon, 1.30pm and 3pm

Whilst we think the creatures of the deep are purely in the sailors’ imaginations, Captain Blackboard has a very different opinion! Join the captain and some of this crew as they tell their tale of their encounter with a beastly creature and the surprising turn their trip took!
