What Lurks Beneath the Inky Sea?

Trails: 10.30am - 6pm in the formal gardens

Crafts: 11am - 4pm in The Old Coach House

Across the centuries tales of beastly sea creatures and fascinating fish have dominated sailing stories, and this Easter we invite you to walk the garden rooms and discover the mythical creatures for yourselves! We’ll also be opening up the Old Coach House and helping you create your very own under-the-sea monsters!

Cannon Fire and Sea Monster Spotting!

6th Apr from 11.00am - 5.00pm

Steady your aim shipmate! We need your best firing skills to help us fight the sea monsters we’ve encountered in our cross-seas adventure! Join Hands on History for a day of mini-crossbows hitting as many sea monster targets as you can! Throughout the day, you’ll also be able to see a real-life cannon be fired, similar to those ships would use in battle!

Spring Stroll

14th Apr from 11.00am - 2.00pm

11am – 2pm
£30 per person to include house and gardens access + two-course roast lunch. Pre-booking required.

Enjoy a springtime stroll through the vibrant parkland with General Manager, Ben Thomas, and discover the history of Penshurst Place and the variety of wildlife living within the grounds, followed by a delicious two-course roast lunch in the Garden Restaurant.

Captain Blackbeard’s Close Encounter

Storytelling performances at 12noon, 1.30pm and 3pm

Whilst we think the creatures of the deep are purely in the sailors’ imaginations, Captain Blackboard has a very different opinion! Join the captain and some of this crew as they tell their tale of their encounter with a beastly creature and the surprising turn their trip took!
