Hospitality Assistant 

We are currently looking for a Hospitality Assistant to work predominantly in our Porcupine Pantry café. This role will be 5 days out of 7 as part of a rota including some weekend working.

This busy café has a large local following and serves as the main catering outlet for the thousands of visitors to the attraction throughout the year. You will be serving a range of locally made cakes, tea, coffee, scones and snacks, as well as a lunch menu which changes seasonally. As part of your shift you will be provided with a free lunch from our menu, as well as hot drinks. 

Experience:

  • 2 years in a catering/hospitality environment (preferred)
  • 1 year in a catering/hospitality environment (essential)
  • 1 year barista trained (preferred)

Work remotely: No 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working on tills, taking customer orders
  • Making hot beverages (on-the-job training provided)
  • Serving a selection of snacks and lunches
  • Restocking fridges and shelving
  • Clearing tables
  • Adhering to food and safety laws and policies
  • Health and safety compliance
  • Cleaning duties around the café and seating areas
  • Possible cashing up/locking up required (18+ workers only)

Ideal candidate:

  • Polite and friendly
  • Happy to work as part of a team
  • Basic food and safety knowledge (level 1 or 2 food safety and hygiene certificate preferred)
  • Previous catering experience
  • Happy to attend training as necessary.

Part Time Hospitality Assistant
