Visitor Services and Retail Assistant

We are currently looking for a Visitor Services and Retail Assistant to work within our visitor entrance and retail departments. The role will include some weekend working, welcoming visitors, providing information, ticket sales, and general retail duties. The role requires a helpful, friendly, and enthusiastic individual who is:

  • Customer focused with good communication skills.
  • Computer literate with a willingness to learn.
  • Flexible, with the ability to work as part of a team.

Hospitality Assistant 

We are currently looking for a Hospitality Assistant to work predominantly in our Porcupine Pantry café. This role will be 5 days out of 7 as part of a rota including some weekend working.

This busy café has a large local following and serves as the main catering outlet for the thousands of visitors to the attraction throughout the year. You will be serving a range of locally made cakes, tea, coffee, scones and snacks, as well as a lunch menu which changes seasonally. As part of your shift you will be provided with a free lunch from our menu, as well as hot drinks. 

Experience:

  • 2 years in a catering/hospitality environment (preferred)
  • 1 year in a catering/hospitality environment (essential)
  • 1 year barista trained (preferred)

Work remotely: No 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working on tills, taking customer orders
  • Making hot beverages (on-the-job training provided)
  • Serving a selection of snacks and lunches
  • Restocking fridges and shelving
  • Clearing tables
  • Adhering to food and safety laws and policies
  • Health and safety compliance
  • Cleaning duties around the café and seating areas
  • Possible cashing up/locking up required (18+ workers only)

Ideal candidate:

  • Polite and friendly
  • Happy to work as part of a team
  • Basic food and safety knowledge (level 1 or 2 food safety and hygiene certificate preferred)
  • Previous catering experience
  • Happy to attend training as necessary.
