Glorious Gardens Weekend - Bonsai Tree Workshop

£40 per person to include Gardens access. Pre-booking required.

Learn the art of Bonsai pruning and care in our first ever Bonsai Tree workshop! Join our UK Bonsai Association accredited specialist and learn the fascinating history of Bonsai Trees before shaping and pruning a tree of your own on the South Lawn, ready to take home.

You'll leave the workshop with all the information you need to be able to care for your Bonsai at home. After the workshop enjoy a stroll through the 11 acres of formal gardens as included in your ticket price.

Glorious Gardens Weekend - Guided Garden Tours

1st Jun from 11.00am - 3.00pm

Included within the cost of entrance. Spaces allocated on a first-come first-served basis. Tours at 11am and 2pm

Join our knowledgeable garden guides for a guided stroll through the gardens, learning about its rich horticultural history as both a formal garden and kitchen garden as you go. Don't forget to ask questions along the way!

Crafts: 11am - 4pm in The Old Coach House

The great explorers of the last millennium achieved a great deal with a varying selection of technology and knowledge. This Spring Holiday we’ll be celebrating the history of great travel, with a collection of hidden travel treasures for you to find in the Formal Gardens! To keep the inspiration alive when you get home, we’ll be rewarding every child's completed trail sheet with a What On Earth? Book to take home!*

Bonsai Re-potting Service

1st Jun from 11.00am - 5.00pm

Standard Gardens Entrance fee is required.

If you own a Bonsai Tree but are looking to give it a bit of a freshen up, why not bring it along to our Bonsai re-potting service on the 1st June, where our UK Bonsai Association accredited expert will be able to take a look at your tree and help you ensure its future health. £10 for a small tree and £25 for a large tree.  

Glorious Gardens Weekend – Head Gardener’s Tour & Tea

2nd Jun from 2.00pm - 4.00pm

£25 per person to include a Cream Tea and Gardens access. Pre-booking required.

Please note the Head Gardener's Tour & Tea will now take place at the later time of 2pm.

Join Head Gardener Tony Wiseman for a tour of the 11 acres of formal gardens and learn more about our rich horticultural past. With our earliest garden records dating back to 1346, Penshurst Place is home to one of the oldest formal gardens still in private ownership, and this Glorious Gardens Weekend we invite you to learn more about we ensure the preservation of our gardens for future generations

After your tour, it would be our pleasure to welcome you to the Garden Restaurant for a refreshing Cream Tea, overlooking the South Lawn.

Glorious Gardens Weekend - Hanging Basket Workshop

£40 per person to include Gardens access. Pre-booking required.

Please note the Hanging Basket workshop will now take place at the earlier time of 11am.

Enjoy a lesson in hanging basket arranging and learn the skills needed to ensure your baskets at home always look impeccable! During this workshop, our expert will guide you and help you understand the best colour, form and texture combinations in your own basket to take home.

Penshurst Village Summer Fête

2nd Jun from 12.00pm - 4.00pm

Join the community of Penshurst Village in their annual Summer Fête! Featuring live music, BBQs, a Hog Roast, games, a dog show and a collection of community-led shows and entertainment, the village fête is a wonderfully traditional summer day out for all the family!

£2.00 per adult. children under 16 free. Free Parking.

 

Gin Tasting Evening

7th Jun from 5.00pm - 7.00pm

5 - 7pm, £30 per person. Pre-booking essential.

Settle in for all things Botanical as we welcome you to our first ever gin-tasting evening! Learn more about the wonderful botanicals that make up your favourite gins and discover new smaller batch gins from our home county all in the wonderful surrounds of the medieval Baron's Hall!

Your tickets will include access to the formal gardens, but as they shut at 6pm, we'd suggest arriving early to see them in their early Summer glory.
